J & J House of Subs is a small mom and pops restaurant on Magnolia and Talbert. Though it is a very modest business, its food is to die for (not literally)! They have a relatively small menu to choose from, but what they do sell will have you wanting to comeback the next chance you get. Don’t even bother bringing friends because you’ll be too busy eating to say anything. The food is like a bomb of awesome in your stomach. Plus, the prices are pretty low, too.
Unfortunately, the restaurant is not exactly welcoming. When you enter, it honestly looks run down. It looks like an unsanitary and cheaply built environment. Some of the leather seats are peeling, the walls are faded, and there isn’t much elbow room once you enter. It does not look like a place where you could get decent food. You can tell that they haven’t spent a lot on the restaurant itself. However, once you take a bite of the food, all of that doubt is washed away. Its that good.
Even if the food isn’t enough to clear that anxiety, they have two old arcade games! Who could possibly deny the legitimacy of something like that.
Overall, J & J House of Subs is a fantastic restaurant disregarding the poor ambiance and its definitely worth a chance.
I went here a long time ago back with some of my Fulton-originated friends I made back in freshman year (I was a Masudian), and it seemed famously known to them! I haven’t gone back since then, but I think I definitely will check it out again soon!
