FNL’s Battle of the Banners

Anti-drug banners on display at the Block

On Saturday, October 22nd, the Block at Orange hosted the 4th annual Battle of the Banners. In attendance were multiple school organizations. The FVHS Friday Night Live club was there, ready to promote Red Ribbon Week.

The rules were simple: each club submitted their own banner, depicting a catchy anti-drug slogan or theme. The winner would have their banner displayed at the Block for all to see. The individual club banners were revealed on a stage at the Block, and anyone could vote for which the one they liked best. Voting took place from 2:00 to 5:30, and the winner was announced at 8:00pm.

All the banners turned out great! Friday Night Live did an exceptional job with theirs, coming up with an eye-catching blue poster that read, “Being high is for birds!”

Unfortunately, our FNL club didn’t win, but that’s not going to stop them from promoting school spirit during Red Ribbon Week. Don’t forget to dress up to show your support for drug and alcohol prevention, Barons!
