Last Friday, our Lady Barons water polo team traveled to Newport Harbor High School to play against the Edison Chargers, who are ranked No. 8 in Orange County. The Chargers kept up a strong defense and had constant turnovers to defeat the Barons 6-16, dropping them to fourth place and tied with Huntington Beach in Sunset League.
On the offensive line, Kayla Robert (’12) netted 4 goals and 2 steals to get the Barons back on track in the second half. Sandy Niemczyk (’13) had 11 saves, but was not enough to stop the Chargers on their way to victory.
They have their last game on February 9th against the Huntington Beach Oilers, where 4th place in Sunset will be decided.
