The 2012-2013 ASB Executive Council was announced Thursday, April 6 following Election Day on April 5.
Junior Jessica Le was declared to be the future president of the Executive Council, with Tricia Voung as vice president, Bryan Nguyen as secretary, Dolly Dang as treasurer, Jessica Hanson as Parliamentarian and Quantin Pham and Paul Do for activities.
“I feel completely honored to be named president,” says Le. “It was such an honor and completely surreal. I was the happiest as can be.”
Le hopes to implement a new theory during her administration. Le stated she hoped to start a domino effect beginning with better representation of the student body and ultimately resulting with a higher level of school spirit.
“It always puzzled me why we couldn’t be that spirited throughout the other months too. As a result, I hope to provide FVHS with more opportunities to become more spirited, with something always going on.”
The campaigning for executive council began on April 2 with 12 candidates and their supporters vying to gain the most support over the span of several days. The candidates finished their campaigns with live speeches streamed to every classroom during the SSR period of April 4.
Says Paul Do, “The workload was, as expected, high and stressful. Fortunately, I had a great campaign team. We tried to isolate ourselves as much as we could to focus on us, instead of worrying about what others may be doing.”
