With playoff hopes out of reach, the Barons looked to make the best they could out of their last series and that they did.
In game two at home, the Barons outscored the Sailors six runs to one. Lee Perri(‘12) opened up the first three innings of play for the Barons. Perri only allowed one run all three innings. He was relieved by Nic Yang(‘13) who pitched the rest of the way. Yang shut out the Sailors and garnered his third win of the season.
The Baron batters scored two in the early half of the game to go up 2-1 going into the fourth inning. It was in the fifth that the Barons really opened up the lead scoring three runs and increasing the score to 6-1.
Tanner Brown(‘12) and Brock Lundquist(‘14) led the team in hits with two a piece. Brown also homered in the game.
In game three, after going up two games in the series, the Barons were looking to accomplish their first sweep of the season. Eleven runs later, the Barons ended the season on a happy note. Seniors were able to get their last at bats in their high school career and future varsity players were able to get their first at bats of the season.
In the first inning, Jordan Lucio(’13) scored two runners to add to two runs earlier by Dillon Persinger(‘14) and Daniel Patzlaff(‘14). The Barons started the game up 4-0. The Sailors had no answer.

The Barons easily swept the Sailors in three games. The Barons did not slip up at all this series and beat a team they were suppose to beat. The boys ended with a final Sunset League record of 5-10 which is well below a five-hundred average. However, the Barons went 15-11 overall and won the Estancia tournament which is a testament to the strength of the Sunset League but also to the potential of the Baron Varsity baseball team next year.
