Battleship fired off last weekend to a mediocre start in the shadow of The Avengers earning a 3-day total of 25 million.
The movie was very slow in getting to the action seen in the previews. The director, Peter Berg, worked hard on building the characters throughout the beginning of the film.
Battleship’s intense action made your heart pound and its comic relief was skillfully delivered.
The special effects in the movie were superb and brought the aliens and action to life.
There were several perspectives going on in this movie. From Admiral Shane (Liam Neeson) trying to command the entire Pacific fleet in light of an alien attack to Lieutenant Hopper(Taylor Kitsch) and Samantha Shane’s (Brooklyn Decker) attempt at romance in the face of total annihilation.
Even though this film was overshadowed, got mediocre reviews, dull showings at the box office; compared to all the alien films of late, it gets two thumbs up!
