The Barons lost to Trabuco Hills 14-21 Friday night.
The Barons came out at a rough start with two touchdowns scored against them early in the game. The first quarter ended with the two touchdowns and a score of 0-14, with the Barons trailing behind the Mustangs.
With the help of the cheerleaders, fans, and coaches, the players diverted their focus to not let up on the game, and came out in the second quarter in attack mode. In this quarter, no touchdowns or points were scored by either teams.
Awaken and ready, the Barons come out to make the score 14-7 when Chris D’entremont (’13) connected with Ryan Finley (’15) on a 43-yard strike with in the third quarter. The third quarter ended with the last touchdown made by the Barons, making Fountain Valley behind with 7 points.
Prepared to make a comeback, the Barons begin the fourth quarter hungry for some touchdowns. Fountain Valley’s Chris D’entremont (’13) threw a pass to Wyatt Christensen (’13), who went for the corner of the end zone and reached out with the ball. Then the ball popped out of his hand and rolled slowly into the end zone, but his senior teammate Jason Baker (’13) fell on it for another touchdown for the Barons. This made the score 21-14 with 5:48 to play. Unfortunately, the Barons couldn’t pull through with another touchdown to even up the score, which made the final score 21-14.
The next football game is on October 5th at 7 p.m. against Huntington Beach at their stadium, so come out and pack the stadium for another battle with the Oilers.
