On Tuesday, September 25th, the Baron tennis girls challenged Edison at the FVHS courts, eventually losing 0-18.
Tia Wheelock (‘15), Titania Nguyen (‘14), and Ashley Hua (‘13) played impressively, but unfortunately lost 5 games to 7.
Although girls tennis suffered a loss, they still feel that they have improved significantly from the beginning of the season. Liz Pham (‘13), the Varsity captain, said, “At the beginning of the season, many of the girls were new and inexperienced. Although we trained all summer, I don’t think anybody really took the competition seriously until the season started. However, I have seen an impressive turn-around within our team. We have girls coming out on Saturdays and staying after practice just to improve. To us, this is definitely a step toward improvement.”The Baron girls will face Marina on September 27th at Marina High School.
