After a two-week-long nomination and voting process, the finalists for Homecoming court were announced Friday afternoon outside the activities office.
“I sprinted with my friends to the activities office,” said finalist Celina Huynh. “I was really surprised to see my name on the list because I don’t talk to people and I’m not really popular.”
Sophomores, juniors and seniors voted in their history classes on Thursday. Freshmen were barred from voting for the first time this year, along with other changes.
“I’m kind of bummed that there were no descriptions underneath their pictures like in past years,” said voter Hannah Holbrook (’13). “I felt like it was sort of a blind vote.”
“But,” she added, “I’m so happy for all my friends that made it.”
Homecoming King and Queen will be announced at the Homecoming game October 12th.
“I would be shocked if I won,” Huynh said. “I wish all the contestants the best of luck!”
