Who hasn’t seen the FVHS banner spanning the length of the fence along our football field on Bushard Street?
Three hundred feet in length and six feet tall, the banner proudly shows off the Baron colors. It has wrapped along the fence near the football field since the second week of school.
This banner is the brainchild of Mr. Fraser, the Assistant Principal of Activities, who spent his first year at FVHS observing school culture and looking for ways to build upon that.
One of his main goals is to build school spirit by infusing more spirit into the school’s grounds is part of this effort. Fraser thought that a good place to start was the fence running along the side of the football field.
When asked what she thought about the banner, Nicole Christenson (’16) stated ,“I’ve never seen anything like it in my whole life.”
Alan Shu (’13) noted, “[The banner] really makes the campus look more unified. It makes the football field and school really seem like Baron turf.”
Fraser predicts the banner is strong enough to endure the next ten years. He stated that this will not be the only baron banner, hinting at a future project for the bowl.
