First annual Harvest festival planned for fall

After a successful Glow Show, ASB is working again on another event, this time planning the first ever Harvest Festival here at FVHS.

An event where participating clubs hold booths of food and games as both a fundraiser and a way to get the community involved, the Harvest Festival is modeled after last year’s Halloween Carnival.

“The reason we’re having a Thanksgiving themed event instead of a Halloween event is because we based the Halloween Carnival on the Haunted Maze that was run by choir,”  ASB member Andrew Thai (‘13) said. “It’s basically the same thing.”

Entrance to the festival is free, and unlike last year’s Carnival, cash will be used instead of tickets.

“We didn’t do a ticket system this year because the process took too long and was inefficient,” said Thai.

With funds provided by the clubs, ASB has planned for line dancing from 7 – 8, a student band, and a pie making contest, where each clubs can win $50 for first place in each of the three categories, which include fruit (apple, cherry, etc), cream (boston cream, banana cream, etc), and other (pecan, pumpkin).

The Harvest Festival will be held on November 16, from 5 – 9 PM at Fountain Valley High.
