Students had the opportunity to showcase their work in the Virtuosos Russian Music Academy Winter Gala last weekend. The Academy members performed a variety of music at Bleu Restaurant as entertainment while people enjoyed their meals.
Timothy Nguyen (’14) sang the National Anthem with the rest of Vivace, a vocal ensemble group. He appreciated the experience as a chance to “show [his] talent on stage and do what [he] loves.”
Jennifer Vo (’13), another member of Vivace, also played a Beethoven piece on the piano.
“I think everyone at this concert played amazingly so far and I think this concert will be phenomenal,” said Vo.
Kathleen Vo was very excited to be on stage. “I am accompanying Audrey Vu (’16) on the piano and I am also going to sing in a vocal ensemble with Ann Tintly (’14), who also goes to FVHS.”
“They make me so proud as a teacher,” said Bradley Baker, the music instructor, “A teacher works very hard during the year and when its time for the kids to show what they’ve done and what they have rehearsed throughout the year, it is important for them to do well. So when it is time for them to perform, you cross your fingers and you hold your breath and hope that everyone does the best they can possibly do.”
