A food fight broke out in the cafeteria last Wednesday. There was no distinct culprit, as the instigator escaped before Supervision could get there.
By the end of 5th period, many students knew of the food fight, even if they had not been present.
“I thought the food fight was a mixture of diverse emotions,” Terrence Nguyen (’14) said. “There were people screaming, running, and laughing.”
Some students speculated that the food fight occurred between two rival gangs, or a group of girls over a disagreement.
“[The students] sit at the table near the lunch lines.. and they’re basically just messing around and one of them threw milk and it splashed the some of the people,” said a student who witnessed the fight.
“I guess three more cups of drink went flying and people starting running out because they’re afraid to get hit.. The group that did it went outside because they didn’t want to get in trouble.”
Principal Herzfeld stated, “It was just verbal sparring among a group of friends that was mostly contained to 6 to 7 people…at least 15 to 17 people exercised constraint in the minor incident containing it not even to a full table, but half a table.”
