Mu Alpha Theta, the school’s math club, participated in its annual competitions at Orange Coast College and Cal State Long Beach on March 15th and 23rd.
The first competition’s team at OCC consisted of Johnny Dang, Kevin Nguyen, Danny Le, and Debbie Chen. The second team consisted of Kevin Nguyen, Debbie Chen, Jon Pham, Jordan Terry, Andy Vu-Hoang, and Jonathan Clements.
Although they did not place in either competition, the teams brought back a total of 3 books, 3 movie tickets, two Starbucks gift cards, and an 16 GB iPod Touch 4 Gen from raffles.
There were a total of 38 schools competing in Math Day at Cal State Long Beach, and around 20 at OCC.
“It was really fun. We had free food, and we’re going to try to do better next year,” Jon Pham (’13) said.
