FVHS performed at Shoreline Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 9th. The show was titled “Earthsongs,” featuring traditional songs from all over the world.
The entire show was conducted and directed by Kevin Tison and Anne Williams, with piano accompaniment by Chris Luthi.
Select students performed with instruments such as the bongos or the guitar, and there were even songs performed in acapella.
“We’ve been preparing for this concert for a long time and it’s our next to last one with all of the choirs together. Everyone really gave it their all and it really paid off,” Beverly Pham (’14) said.
Christy Nguyen (’14) said, “I thought the concert was a blast. My favorite part was when Baron Choir performed ‘My Girl.’ They really seemed to have fun with it. ”
Victor Lee (’15) was “really impressed by how well synchronized the performers were, as well as how at-ease they seemed on stage. I thought having the percussion for “It Takes a Whole Village,” was really cool.” The song was performed by the Concert Choir.
The national anthem, sung by Concert Choir, Troubadors, and Les Chanteurs, was the last act and was also performed at the Dodgers game in San Diego on Thursday.
There will be another concert next Tuesday featuring American folk songs, including some performed on this night, titled “American Tapestry.” The concert will start at 6:30 pm at St. Wilfrid’s Church and featuring Concert Choir and Troubadors.
