Orchestra students went around the school and performed for those who received a Spring Gram on March 29th.
Like Valentine Grams, Spring Grams is a popular fundraising event. The receiving students are given a card and a lei along with a performance for $2.
Unlike the Valentine grams though, the Spring Gram performances were less personal, saving the receiving students from complete embarrassment.
Leonard Vo (’16) felt that “they showed the abilities of our fine musicians very well. The music choice was great and was executed in a fantastic manner.”
“I really liked them!” Alexis Sutterman (’15) said, “I think the orchestra performed really well and it was really fun to watch them play really modern songs! It was cute. It’s also a nice way to wish a friend a happy spring break!”
Spring Gram performances were either medleys or two songs with a smooth transition.
“It was awesome how they played string versions of modern songs,” Steven Pham (’13) said, “The only bad thing was that there weren’t enough of them. Not a lot of people bought them.”
“It made my gloomy day turn into a happy one,” said Brian Nguyen (’14).
