Senior Commission refuted rumors that there would not be enough money this year to fund all the traditional senior end-of-the-year activities.
“Senior Commission does have money to fund all end of the year activities,” said president of Senior Commission Bryan Nguyen (’13).
However, because of a lack of events, the end-of-year activities might “not be up to scale.
“”The club has enough money,” Nguyen said. “We just don’t have enough to where we want to be right now.”
The same group of people have been working on their commissions for four years to raise money for the final events of senior year. Through its many fundraisers, such as the recent Avengers Movie Night, Senior Commission has been able to raise its end of the funds.
However, because of lackluster turnout, the quality of the events may not be as great as the previous years.
“What that means for our seniors,” Nguyen said, “is that if we want the best events, we’re going to need people to go to all our events.”
Events such as the upcoming Wild in the West dance on April 12th were part of the club’s last attempts to accumulate funds for senior activities such as Senior Breakfast and Senior Luau.
“If we do [get people to go to our events], we’ll have a pretty cool Luau and a really great Senior Breakfast,” said Nguyen.
