The 2013 Coronet Awards Ceremony took place at Huntington Beach High School on Friday, May 17.
Students were nominated in the departments of Publications, Consumer and Family Studies, World Languages, Math, Social Science, Theatre Arts, English, Science, Visual Arts, Vocal Music, Performing Arts, and School Service and Leadership. Dual finalists, students who were finalists in two different categories, were also recognized.
“It’s such an honor just to be nominated, and to win as a junior is so amazing,” said Caroline Moore (’14), who won in the English department. “I’m so glad I had such great teachers at FVHS who have helped me so much.”
The Prix d’Honneur, the last and most prestigious award, was given at the end of the night, to Max Chern (’13) and Sheshanna Phan (’13).
“The Coronet Award Ceremony was truly a great and memorable experience this year,” Chern said. “It was inspiring to see all of the amazing scholars on stage and hear about all their incredible accomplishments. It was an honor to be a part of it all and I am so grateful for the opportunity to share the spotlight with all of the deserving nominees, finalists, and winners.”
