Supervision has closed down the restroom area behind the cafeteria due to a fire that occurred on Saturday.
Students taking the SAT noticed smoke coming from the girls’ restroom. “It was during our second five minute break of the SAT,” said Nikki Tran (’14), who tested in the cafeteria. “We were all standing around and then I heard someone talking…a girl opened up the restroom and there was smoke coming out.”
Tran heard fire trucks in the distance. A few minutes later, she spotted firefighters coming into the school. “The firemen opened the door and there was black smoke, like something caught on fire.”
The choir room, which is attached to the restrooms, was not affected by the fire.
“I do understand why [administration] didn’t tell people about it during the testing; it would’ve made the students worried and not concentrate on their test,” said Jenny Nguyen (’14).
Assistant Principal of Supervision Jessie Marion did not disclose much information. “Investigation has taken action,” she said. “We have had good information about what happened. All we can say is that nobody got hurt and everyone was safe.”
really, the school doesn’t care about people. only their SAT scores.
It’s actually not our school only, you obviously don’t know what you’re talking about but many other schools have students that test with us.. Find something real to complain about
Excuse me but no part of the article complained anything about anyone. We aren’t allowed to know who it is and there’s no complaint. Next time please read carefully…
Well this is just bananas.
I was taking my SAT day and administration should have told us about it. I wouldn’t have feel safe taking the SAT and know there’s a fire close where I’m taking a test. FVHS doesn’t care for their students safety.
