Seniors met in the gym for the traditional Honors Night ceremony last Friday, where seniors receive certificates, tassels, and cords with which to adorn their gowns at graduation.
The gym was packed with almost half of the senior class, and most of the bleachers were filled with family and friends. Mr. Clint Walters, the Master of Ceremonies for the evening, moved quickly through the multitude of awards to be presented that night, keeping the ceremony short and sweet.
Tyler McHenry (‘13), who was honored several times throughout the evening for his impressive academic record, his aptitude for language, and his presidency of NHS, said, “It gave us all a chance to reflect on the talents and successes of this year’s graduating class, all of which are impressive.”
As seniors dispersed at the end of the presentation, groups formed for photographs with family and friends.
Anthony Ho, (’13) who received numerous awards and honors, said, “Senior honors night was great. Everyone there was able to be recognized for all their hard work across these four years. I got to see faces of friends I hadn’t seen in a long time and was able to applaud all of my friends for their great success in high school.”
Great Job, they deserved it.
