While students are looking forward to two months of vacation time, FVHS teachers are participating their own fun summer activities. Whether it’s traveling the world or staying at home, they have already made many plans.
Spanish teacher Sheila Bunten plans to spend her summer lounging at home with her family. “To shake things up we will be doing mystery bags with the toddlers,” said Bunten. While relaxing, she will also take a trip with her husband to San Francisco for a twenty-year reunion with his junior high friends. One of her goals for the summer is to learn how to sew, which she will learn from her mother.
Math teacher Richard Billingsley plans to escape for the summer. Mr. Billingsley is heading to Colorado for a camping trip with his family. He will then travel to New York to see a Broadway show. “We don’t know which one yet; we haven’t bought the tickets,” he said. He is then riding his bike all the way to San Diego for some summer exercise.
Social studies teacher Julie Chaicharee is spending her vacation money on a bit of backyard remodeling. Chaicharee will be spending her time overseeing her remodeling, cleaning her room, preparing for the next school year, and visiting the Colorado River with the family. She plans to enroll her children in many summer classes like rock climbing, surfing, and visiting museums to enrich their knowledge of the world.
Although everyone has different plans over the next three months, FVHS teachers will no doubt have interesting experiences for the summer.
