Girls tennis started off the season with their second win against San Clemente last Thursday..
The line up for singles and doubles held strong for the beginning of the matches, with a neck-to-neck win and loss for the first part.
But the girls pulled ahead with win after win and defeated San Clemente. Number one doubles, Ashley Truong (’17) and Catherine Dinh (’17) won all three of their games, with a tough start to a smooth finish.
“They were consistent, good sports, and great volleys,” said Truong.
Jane Nguyen (’17), number two in the singles line up, also won all three of her matches.
With the girls practically running a marathon between match after match, they stayed true long enough to secure the win for FV. Though the effort was visible on both teams, and San Clemente proved a tough opponent.
The support from the team members, both active and inactive, was strong that day as they cheered for their fellow players.
The frosh-soph girls are already hitting the courts to prepare for their next match on Monday at 3:15 p.m. against Foothill.
