Varsity girls tennis played their last match of the season on Monday, but lost 6-12 against Newport Harbor.
The last home game was bittersweet for many of the players, especially the senior girls, who looked back on their experiences as freshmen.
“I felt like this year was so much better [than previous years],” Tanya Nguyen (’14) said. “We improved as a team and stepped up our game. Although we didn’t get third place like we hoped it was still nice to be fourth instead of fifth place.”
Although girls tennis did not make Sunset League this year, overall as a team, they were proud of their improvements.
“I think the most memorable thing was almost beating Edison. The team has changed into a stronger more dedicated team,” said Nguyen.
