The Barons fought a tense game against Los Alamitos on April 8.
Varsity baseball played a difficult game against Los Al, but despite hard plays, managed to come out victorious.
The first inning took off with a powerful offensive and defensive play from both teams. Pitchers Hunter Margain (’15), Joe Loranger (’14), and Daniel Rosica (’14) played well, throwing great pitches and hard hits to Los Alamitos.
Though through the game, the scores were kept at a flat 0-0 back and forth. Neither team allowed the other to slip up a point. Barons struggled to pull ahead, but the score would not change with a powerful defense from Los Alamitos.
“We’ve been playing some great baseball and everyone has been contributing,” said Daniel Rosica (’14). “Our pitching has been great and our offense is getting hot at the right time.”
Despite Los Al’s efforts to keep the Barons at bay, the team still managed to pull in a few runs. Barons managed to pull ahead, taking control of the game as Los Alamitos struggled to make a score and even out the game.
Defense refused to let up and the Barons managed to keep the upper hand. The team managed to power through and hitter Willie Aguilar (’15) kept the offense running strong.
After an impenetrable defensive play and a charging offense, the Barons managed to pull through the game with a score of 7-0.
“We just hope to continue playing well and winning,” said Rosica.
