Please donate if you can as it takes a lot of these items to keep 500+ teenagers hydrated and going until 5am! You can bring donated items to the fire station directly across the street from FVHS at anytime. Please place them in the covered areas right at the front of the station. Bottled water and any type of soda, Coke, Pepsi, Root Beer, Sunkist, Sprite, 7-up, cans are needed. NO BOTTLES of soda please. Wrapped candy in bite sized packages are perfect. First up will be a local fitness expert, Zenia Joyner of Fit Body Boot Camp in Fountain Valley. Next, will be Tom Bottorf an Admissions and Financial Aid Expert, who is going to teach us how to get “free money” for college. Tom will explain his tried and proven 7 step process to receive “free money”. Learn what our freshman, sophomore and junior students should be doing this summer and next fall in order to receive lots of money. You’ll want to hear this! PTSA business will be conducted from 6:30 – 7:00 pm.

Congratulations to the Varsity Baseball team for their second consecutive Sunset League title! Scott Schultz improved his record to 13 and 0. Daniel Patzlaff continued his hitting with a double and two singles. That pushed his Sunset league average to .511. The Barons will find out on Monday who their first round opponent will be. Playoffs will begin next Friday. Please come out and support the Barons.
The JV baseball team ended its season with a dominant 13-1 win over rival Edison. The 100 degree sun didn’t slow down the Baron bats, as FV hitters sprayed hard hit doubles all over the field. Junior Stephen Fedele collected 4 hits and 5 runs batted in on the day. Pitchers stifled Edison bats and the defense did its part, holding Edison to just one run on 4 hits. And sophomore Michael Murphy led the team in good attitude on the day. Good season Barons.
Congrats to our track team who will be competing at the CIF Division 1 Prelims this Saturday at Trabuco Hills High School. Field events start at 11:00, running events start at 12:00. Good luck to our track athletes who qualified from Fountain Valley.

Congratulations to Kasey Liong and Vi Pham for winning a scholarship from the Youth For Understanding Program! They will attend a local high school in Japan 6 weeks to learn about the Japanese culture and to better their Japanese language skills. We are so proud of you! Have fun in Japan!!

Great news Coastline ROP has partnered with Golden West Community College to create the Automotive Technology Academy. This is an amazing opportunity for any student interested in working in the automotive field. Seniors will be allowed to take a yearlong Auto Tech class on the Golden West campus. These classes will not only earn them high school credits but also college credits. After they complete these classes through ROP they will only have one more year to get their certificate. There are quick deadlines for this class, if you are interested in taking this class, please see Ms Sanders in the Career Center.

It’s coming…The annual dance team Spring Show! The show is tomorrow in our gym at 6pm. Come see all of the teams’ award winning dances from this competition season!! They will perform all of their jazz, lyrical, hip hop character and solo routines from this season as well as several guest performers. Tickets are $5 presale and $7 at the door. The Miss Fountain Valley Scholarship Pageant Representatives will be visiting campus on Friday during lunch. All students interested in the scholarship and pageant can get the forms and sign up in front of the cafeteria. The deadline to sign up will be Aug. 31 and the Pageant will be held on November 1. They will have more information on Friday so be sure to stop by the table in front of the cafeteria.

It’s coming…The annual dance team Spring Show! The show is this Saturday in our gym at 6pm. Come see all of the teams’ award winning dances from this competition season!! They will perform all of their jazz, lyrical, hip hop character and solo routines from this season as well as several guest performers. Tickets are $5 presale and $7 at the door.
