Last week FVHS Theatre performed their version of the classic, ‘Julius Caesar.’

However, the theater department did not put on a tragic tale of woe as Shakespeare wrote, but instead performed a twist on the tale of Julius Caesar by modernizing the play and giving it a high school theme.

The play starts off interactive and quick, adding the audience to the actually play itself by walking them through class by class as if it were an actual school day. The play leads up to a talent show finale which takes place in the theater room.

Clever, witty, and generally good-natured fun, the play is an enjoyable show with few moments of confusion or boredom.

The cast performs brillantly with bright, in-character acting all around. There were constantly smiles, even if the jokes were a little cheesy, and the entire performance itself was very enjoyable.

The play provides a pleasant surprise in sitting through not a tragic replay of an old tale, but a modernized twist of the same story, bringing to it an original, unique outlook not seen before.
