With first semester finals week coming to a close, the exam season’s latest fashion trends included sweatpants and of course, multiple mugs of coffee.
Students chose comfort over couture as they endured three days of consecutive two-hour tests. For example, instead of conventional, winter foot attire, many wore running shoes and slippers. This year, blankets remained especially popular, as they help students to relax before exams and provide warmth in chilly classrooms.
Returning next week to campus will be scarves and turtlenecks, just in time for a fresh start into second semester.
“I make sure to wear warm clothes because most of my classes are cold, so I’ll always bring an extra jacket or a thick shirt,” said Mackenzie Hill (’16). Photo by Kristie-Valerie Hoang.
“I stay comfortable by throwing my appearance out the window. I stop doing my makeup, my hair, and I wear my pajamas and crocs to school just in case I have extra time after the test to take a nap. By sacrificing my appearance, I give myself some extra time to sleep in and rest up for my finals. The blanket also can double as a tissue just in case I fail any of my finals,” said Lindsay Brown (’16). Photo by Kristie-Valerie Hoang.
“To stay comfortable during finals week, I dress in really basic and comfy clothing like leggings and a t-shirt. I stay productive during finals by treating myself with snacks will I study,” said Pauline Thach (’17). Photo by Kristie-Valerie Hoang
