The month of love is finally here, and many students are pumped for the many activities popping up around campus. There’s plenty to get ready for, so let’s dive right into this week’s Baron Picks.
Everyone loves to be serenaded, so whether it’s a declaration of love or an attempt to make your best friend blush in front of their whole class, Valentine’s Day Grams are a great way to support our amazing choir while getting into the spirit of love. They can be purchased at the table in front of the Financial office or from any choir student around campus for $3. The deadline for turning them in is Tuesday, Feb. 9, so get those cards written and get ready to hear our choir spread a lovely message of love and friendship.
For anyone who signed up to audition for the FNL talent show, be sure to bring your A-game because auditions begin this week. Keep practicing and good luck against the competition, Barons.
This week in sports there is a full schedule of exciting home games. Varsity girls basketball play on Tuesday and Thursday at 7 p.m. Their first game is against Marina (Tues) and then Edison (Thurs). Varsity girls soccer play on the same days at 3 p.m. against Los Alamitos (Tues) and Marina (Thurs). On Friday, Varsity boys basketball play at 7 p.m. against Marina, while Varsity boys soccer play at 3 p.m. also against Marina. Come out to cheer for our great sports teams.
Grab your sweatbands and shorts because this Monday through Wednesday, there will be sign-ups for a dodgeball tournament hosted by ASB, in front of the Activities office. The tournament is Feb. 9 to 19, and is $5 per person to join. Assemble a winning team of five and get ready to try your luck at the tournament.
Also on our agenda is the performance by our very own Honor Band this Thursday at 7:30 p.m. This event will be held at Huntington Beach High School in the auditorium.
