On Tuesday, Sept. 6 the varsity girls volleyball team went up against Dana Hills in a close loss of 19-25.
“We could always improve on serve receive and serving. I think we made too many errors in those two aspects of our game,” said Coach Connor Olbright.
The girls got the first point in the first set and had good defense, blocking as many spikes as they could. Erin Finley (’17) contributed in making the most spikes both sets.
When the girls were falling behind in points, Amy Hinnant (’17) brought in great spikes, bringing the score closer from 9-15 to 11-15. She also had two great serves which brought the score up even higher.
The girls gave it all the got the first set, but ended it 15-25.
After half time, the scores were close with Dana Hills scoring then the lady Barons scoring, both teams scoring points back and forth.
The girls fought as hard as they could in the final set, but unfortunately lost their first home game of the year.
Despite this loss, Olbright’s goal for the team this year it to be able to make it all the way to CIF and to do well in League.
