Crumbs, Whiskers and Pet Supply

Whiskers in LA has many residents waiting to find their forever home like this tabby cat.by Isabella Purdy, Staff Writer

One of the most popular places to go to in Japan are cat cafes.  Cat cafes are places where cats are in a cafe, and people can interact or adopt them while enjoying the refreshments a classic cafe offers like tea or coffee.

But you don’t have to go to Japan to experience this!  The Crumbs & Whiskers Cat Cafe is to the rescue in Los Angeles.  This unique location is one of two found in the United States.

The interior is simple with just a concrete floor but one that is adorned with scratching posts, cat beds and cat trees. The walls are lined with special shelving units that double as steps for a cat to get an aerial view of the place, which offers different levels for customers to play with the cats.

All of the cats are rescued from shelters before they are euthanized and are well taken care of with lots of love by the staff of Crumbs and Whiskers.  All of the cats will eventually find great homes by people who make appointments in advance and come to Los Angeles for a scheduled block of time where they get to play with the cats, pet them and feed them lots of treats.

The best part about Crumbs and Whiskers is that by placing a reservation, you are not only helping the organization but also ensuring that more cats will be rescued and find forever homes.

If you’re looking into adopting a cat, going to Crumbs & Whiskers can help you find a new fluffy friend to take home with you. In addition with your payment, you are also helping the next person who comes in adopt a cat as well.  Ordering coffee or tea can also help the organization; their coffee drinks are really good, along with their cookies and treats you can buy.

These shelving units double as steps for cat to get up high and play from different angles.

Pet Supply is a business centered around Fountain Valley for several years and now has a new Cat Country segment of the store just devoted to felines.

On Saturday afternoons, Pet Supply has cat and kitten adoptions along with bunny adoptions.

Fountain Valley High School student Maya Bello ( ’20) found her cat Diana at Pet Supply, a one-year-old female tortoiseshell, that now lives happily at Maya’s house and enjoys playing with the many toys and gadgets that Maya and her mom have bought for their feline friend.

But thanks to Pet Supply, Diana now gets to spend her life with a loving family that will always take care of her and Bello got a new companion. Pet Supply suggests that anyone looking to find a furry friend consider going into adoption and giving a lost animal a new home.

Ordering a coffee drink can help support this organization to go out and rescue more cats.
