With Thanksgiving Break approaching, many people are zipping up their suitcases and digging for their passports. Key word: many. Not everyone can just zip off to Hawaii or go on a long road trip to Zion National Park. However, having fun locally is an option!

1. Los Angeles

Los Angeles is filled with little quirks and hidden gems that some people may not know about. For example, The Last Bookstore on Spring Street contains tons upon tons of hardly used books. Many books are sold at a discounted price so you can stock up for yourself or even for a Christmas present! Afterwards, swing by the Grand Central Market Place to browse through all the food and restaurants they offer!

2. Round One Entertainment

So maybe you can’t drive up to the city of angels, but you still want to have an iconic memory filled break. Round One Entertainment can offer that to you! Located at the MainPlace Mall in Santa Ana, Round One entertainment holds many activities that you and your friends can enjoy. From karaoke to bowling to arcade games, they have it all! Claw machines and pool tables can be found, too! They also have delicious food for the whole gang to enjoy.

3. La Petite Sourie

Just because Thanksgiving is going to fill you up doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t grab some dessert. La Petite Sourie is a french bakery located in Santa Ana with delicious treats! Take the family to try some macarons, pastries, and cookies! If you decide to stay a little longer, order their baguette sandwiches!

4. Seabirds Kitchen

Vegans don’t worry! Maybe you can’t enjoy La Petite Sourie’s croque monsieur, but you can enjoy the variety of vegan meals that Seabirds Kitchen has to offer. Even if you aren’t a vegan, Seabirds Kitchen’s mission is to open up a new door to fruits and vegetables. Try their Kimchi Taco or their Purple Taquitos!

  1. Hi! I really enjoy the recommendations and the alternatives to a Thanksgiving celebration! I agree that a lot of kids here feel kinda left out because they’re stuck here if they can’t travel for the break, and it’s really nice that you gave some ideas. I know that a lot of people here get bored often because they don’t think that there is a lot to do around Fountain Valley, so I feel that you should definitely follow up with an article like this and just give some general recommendations of places around here! I feel that the article could have been longer and have given a lot more, because I really like the idea you were going for. I also kinda hoped that the addresses could have been listed for these places, and more description and places could be listed, but the list given is still good! Thanks for listening and great job!
