Students all around the world go to school and bring backpacks every day to class in order to carry their materials in an efficient and useful way.

Although not everyone brings backpacks, each student has different materials depending on the number of classes and necessary items they must have for certain classes. Purses, drawstring bags and a variety of backpack sizes and colors are seen throughout Fountain Valley High School (FVHS).

The main purpose of a backpack for school is to help carry around materials in a single storage place rather than carry a million items in your hands where you could possibly lose anything. Every student has a variety of items in their bag and the items necessary can be found below:

1. Any type of bag that can carry the necessary items a student at FVHS wishes to bring on a daily basis.

2. Folder or binder that can include all assignments with loose leaf paper for extra note taking.

3. Water bottle to keep you hydrated throughout the long day.

4. Pencils, variety of color pens, highlighters and/or erasers to help work on everyday assignments.

5. Wallet that includes your Student ID and any spare money in case of emergency.

6. Pencil bag to help store all your school supplies and to keep everything in the same place.

7. Books that you can use to read during your spare time or textbooks for a certain class.

The list does not stop there. Having a backpack means you are entitled to bring anything you want to benefit your day as long as it is safe and does not endanger other students on the campus. Many students bring a variety of extra supplies just in case they need something throughout the day and the backpack is there for them to supply.

Here are a few extra items that can be added to your backpack:

1. Lotion, perfume and hand sanitizers that are scented to keep you refreshed all day.

2. Band-aids or a first aid kit in case of an accident.

3. Lunch bag for those who choose to bring lunch to school.

4. Gum or mints as long as you throw away rappers in the trash.

5. Keys if you drive to school.

6. Tiny tissue packets that can be used whenever you want.

7. Planner to help you organize your activities.

8. Markers, scissors, mini stapler and white out for any necessary situations.

9. Hair ties for those who want to put their hair up from a long day.

10. Any notebook or notepad for extra notes.

11. A snack in case you get hungry.

12. Earbuds to listen to music when you have free time.

This list is not limited and there are multiple items that you can bring depending on your style and your day. Backpacks are there to help you and make your life easier throughout school year. Time to get packing, Barons!
