For the 2019-2020 school year, Fountain Valley High School added a new 13 minute break and class periods are now five minutes shorter. These are the opinions of FVHS students about the new bell schedule. For the full bell schedule click here .
“I think it’s good to have a break in between because if you have all four periods, which I’m assuming that was how it was last year, it could be a little more hard. I guess having a break does help clear people’s heads and relax in between. I think the length of the class periods (being five minutes shorter) is fine,” said freshman Jolin Thai. I do like the break, but I personally prefer to be in class over the break,” siad freshman Pat Johnson. Photo by Camelia Heins. “I like the break and how we can go home earlier. This is a lot better because…we can do our work quicker and go to sleep earlier…and the break gives us time to recharge,” said sophomore Brandon Tran. So, I don’t think it disrupts the flow and I don’t have any conflicts with it. I like how the periods are shorter too,” said junior Jake Grinchell. It is better than last year’s bell schedule because we get out earlier,” said junior My Nguyen. Photo By Camelia Heins. “I like the new bell schedule because I get to leave earlier. I guess now I have an extra hour to do homework or whatever I want. Usually, we get out at 3:00 but now I can just go home at 2:30. [The class periods], it be what it be,” said junior Hanson Hoang. This [bell schedule] is a great way to end our last year as Fountain Valley Barons,” said senior Sophie Kahsay. Photo by Camelia Heins.
