The end of a chapter or unit always seems to coincide with breaks during the school year. With winter break just around the corner, teachers are deciding if they should schedule major tests in the days before or after it. Students don’t often have a say in this decision, but here, they share whether they prefer taking tests prior to break or after.
“Honestly, I think it depends on how well I’ve been prepared for the test. So if I’m prepared well enough then I’d rather have it before break so I don’t have to worry about it later on. But if I haven’t had time then I’d rather have it after break” said junior Nguyen-An Pham.
“I think it’s better for students to have tests before break just for the sole purpose of getting everything done and then we don’t have to stress about it over break” said freshman Chloe Hoang.
“I’d rather take a test after break because I kind of want to enjoy my break, not do anything that involves school, so I kind of just want to enjoy my time” said sophomore Eddie Murillo.
“Honestly, I would rather take it before break because that way you can have the winter break to take a break, obviously, and you don’t have to worry about studying for a test” said junior Aaliyah Alzaim.
“Probably before. I feel like I’ll remember stuff more, because after break, I’m practically brain-dead. I wouldn’t remember anything” said junior Eman Le.
“Before break, because if it’s after break, during break you can’t relax as much because you’re stressed about studying for that test” said junior Diana Ledezma.
