Finals for Fountain Valley High School students are approaching quickly, which comes hand-in-hand with long, focused study marathons. The thought of this might fill you with dread, but there are ways to make studying more enjoyable and effective.
A good place to study should be quiet with few distractions to allow you to concentrate on your work. Table space is also very important; it’s much easier to study efficiently when all of your materials are spread out and organized in comparison to being cramped and lacking space. Some bonuses include good music and, of course, food.
Eating snacks while studying can be beneficial as it provides you with more energy to maintain focus and prevent getting tired. Of course, this is no substitute for taking breaks to eat a meal, but it can definitely help you get through long study marathons.
Here are some good places for both studying and grabbing a bite while you’re at it.
1. Artisan by 7 Leaves & Crema Bakery
Perfect for having brunch with friends on weekends, the ambiance of this cafe also makes it an amazing spot to study in. It has plenty of table space with outlets and free Wi-Fi, which covers all of your studying necessities. Although the pastries may be pricy, they are delicious study snacks and the boba drinks are great to sip on while reviewing.
2. Long Black Coffee
Delicious coffee, flaky pastries and free Wi-Fi, this coffee shop is the perfect place to do some last-minute cramming. With a few small tables, this is a great place to grab a few study partners or even just go by yourself to focus on your work. The shop opens early in the morning at 6:30 a.m. on weekdays and 7:30 a.m. on weekends, making it an enjoyable brunch spot as well.
3. AOSA Coffee
With plenty of healthy foods to choose from including acai bowls and avocado toast, this coffee shop is a fantastic spot to sit down and have something to eat while studying. If you’re lacking sleep and need an energy boost, there’s a variety of teas, coffees and lattes to choose from. They also offer free Wi-Fi and indoor and outdoor seating.
4. Corner Bakery Cafe
This cafe has a large menu with food for any time of the day: breakfast, lunch or dinner. It’s a perfect place to enjoy a meal and talk to your friends or snack on bakery sweets while you study. The free Wi-Fi and spacious tables are available indoors and outdoors, making this cafe a great study spot.
5. Meet Fresh
The perfect place to fulfill your sweet cravings, this dessert house offers free Wi-Fi and outlets along with abundant seating. With a large variety of drinks to sip on and a diverse menu of desserts to snack on, this is an amazing spot to have an evening or night-time study session, especially with the late closing time of 11 p.m. on school nights, and 12 a.m. on Friday and Saturday night.
Getting out of the house to study instead of locking yourself in your room can lead to a happier, more productive study session. These are some great places to go out and study with friends for all of your reviewing and snacking needs.
