Clothing is often used for people to express themselves in many different ways. From Y2K to indie, many “aesthetics” have been circulating on social media, such as TikTok and Instagram, which many use combinations of to find a style right for them.

Junior Angelynn Tran: “My cardigan is from H&M and I just wore a basic black tank top. I don’t really know where it’s from. I’m wearing Birkenstocks and my jeans are from Edikted. I got [the necklace] from my grandma and [the bracelets] are gifts from my mom. I [find inspiration] on Pinterest and TikTok. I like to do a lot of online shopping, anything from Tiktoker Demetra Dias’ Closet,” junior Angelynn Tran said.
“My sweater [and jeans are] from Brandy Melville. My cross is from Brandy Melville, my earrings are from Old Navy and this other necklace is from Missook. [The shoes are from] Converse,” senior Kayla Tran said. “My top is from Urban Outfitters. [My jacket is] from my brother’s closet. [The jeans] are from Garage. [All the accessories] are from Apparel. [The shoes are from] Reebok. Pinterest [inspires me],” senior Pearline Truong said.
“My top is from Forever 21. My pants are from Amazon. My shirt is from Amazon also. My shoes are from nike. My necklace, I made [it] because I own a small business and my earrings are also made by me. I just really like fashion and the way you can express yourself with your clothing. I get [inspiration] from my sister and pinterest,” junior Alina Troung said.
“I think [the top] is from amazon . . . I thrifted [the jacket]. My skirt is from Urban [Outfitters]. My shoes are Onitsuka Tigers from Japan. [My accessories] are thrifted as well. I want to feel good, so I put on clothes I like. I think I take inspiration from my friends the most. [My go-to place for shopping] is probably the thrift store,” sophomore Angelina Nguyen said. “I thrifted [the top and jacket] from Crossroads. I got [my jeans] from my sister. My shoes are Doc Martens. I thrifted my [necklace]. I like to see what’s unique. Trends are nice but also finding a bit of yourself in [the] trends. [My go-to place for shopping is] the thrift store,” sophomore Natalie Nguyen said.
“My top is from Amazon. My jacket is from Ross. My jeans are also from Ross. [My shoes are from] the Doc Marten store. I made my earrings myself. My hair clip is from Hot Topic. I’m also open to commissions for earrings and any type of jewelry. Creative passion in the industry of fashion [inspires me]. My go-to places [are] online, or Ross really anything that’s in the budget,” freshman Taylor Lam said.
“My top is from Q. I got it from Irvine Spectrum. I got [my pants] from a store in Japan called Gu. My shoes are from Onitsuka Tigers. My necklace is [from] Tiffany. I see a lot of my outfit [inspiration] on TikTok and Pinterest. I would say [my go-to place for shopping] is H&M and Hollister,” sophomore Audrey Chau said.
“[My jacket is from] Reebok. [The jeans are from Hollister]. [The shoes are] Birkenstocks. [My go-to place for shopping] is Pacsun,” junior Jeremy Hong said. “My sweater is from Abercrombie. The shirt under is [from] Uniqlo. My pants are from Adidas and my shoes are Crocs. My inspiration is being comfortable and what the weather is. My go-to place for shopping is Abercrombie,” junior Hayden Nguyen said.
“My top is from Brandy [Melville]. I got [my jeans] from Tillys. I think I got [the shoes] from Zumeiz. [My inspiration] is that [TikToker] Demetra,” freshman May Le said.
“My top is from Brandy Melville. [The jeans] are from Edikted. [The shoes] are Adidas Sambas. My necklace is from Brandy Melville. My second piercing is from Etsy and then my first piercing is from Brandy Melville. Usually TikTok [inspires me for my outfits]. My go-to place for shopping is Brandy Melville or Edikted,” junior Ava Le said. “My shirt is from Hollister. My jeans are from Pacsun. My shoes are from Target. I’d say TikTok and Instagram [inspire me for my outfits]. [My go-to place for shopping is] Hollister and Abercrombie & Fitch,” junior Philip Roberts said.
