On Wednesday, Oct. 15, Fountain Valley High School’s Flag Football team went up against Fairmont Prep High School, defeating them with a score of 28-7.

“Everybody as a team did really well and all had huge moments,” junior captain Skyla Auger said.

Playing her second year in flag football, Auger was a key player during this game, having critical interceptions and scoring multiple touchdowns.

“I think one of our key players was our quarterback[freshman] Addy Carl,” Auger said. “I think she did an amazing job with her throws and [junior] Ava Daley helped turn up the energy and get us started.”

Carl was a star player of the game, intercepting multiple key plays and scoring over two touchdowns. Carl also demonstrated great footwork, especially as a freshman and her first year on the school’s team.

“Our season was definitely better than last season,” Auger said. “We went into this knowing that we might be on the lower end of competitiveness, but we just wanted to, overall, bring up our record from last year. Which we definitely did.”
