Vivienne Le, an extracurricular fein, never backs down at an opportunity to try something new.

As a junior at Fountain Valley High School, Le has wasted no time and tried many hobbies.

Throughout her high school experience, she describes herself as a social butterfly and academically unpredictable. Her biggest strength as a student is being able to participate in class, while her biggest weakness is being her own toughest critic.

“[I am] never actually happy with the work I do,” Le said.

These traits certainly do not hold her back from doing what she loves. So far, her favorite memory was freshman year English class where she met lots of new people and discovered a strong passion in the subject.

As her senior year approaches, Le aims to meet as many people and create as many experiences as possible before she leaves.

“As I am still free from adult life,” Le said.

However, Le wasn’t always this spark of curiosity. She says her biggest accomplishment throughout high school included expanding her horizons.

When first entering the school as a freshman, she was extremely introverted and had little interest in exploring new things. But as she got to know a lot of people, she was inspired to get more involved on campus. Le found herself getting into new hobbies, such as track, and pursuing opportunities for the future. This includes Mock Trial, Model United Nations and Baron Banner.

“[I would] love to continue [these extracurriculars] in her adult life,” Le said.

With these extracurriculars, Le finds a balance through coping with stress. She claims that one of her favorite strategies is to take her mind off completely, by reading books or even going for a run. In her free time, she also enjoys swimming or biking around the area.

Furthermore, when in need of motivation, she likes to remind herself of her core beliefs:

“Things are going to work out eventually in the future, and I don’t have to worry about myself all the time,” Le said.

What’s shocking is that most of her inspiration does not come from an actual person, instead, Le draws most of her inspiration from listening to music. She claims that the art reflects her mood, for example, when doing homework, sad music makes her more productive. Her current fixation is Taylor Swift’s new album, which never fails to make her shed tears and emotionally tie this sadness to her homework.

There is no doubt that this is only the beginning of Le’s story and she is excited for all the amazing things that she plans to accomplish in the future.
