As Sunset League dawns, both boys and girls varsity swim come into the championship meet ranked 4th in league.
The boys seek to advance to 3rd place if they can defeat Newport Harbor, who has lacked some depth this season. The team may also move down to 5th if Huntington Beach can upset the Barons with a handful of qualified swimmers at finals.
On the girls’ side, the girls potentially can finish with a solid 3rd place finish in the rigorous Sunset League if they can defeat Newport Harbor, who recently beat the lady Barons at last week’s dual meet. Technically, this is the first meet the girls has had all their freestyle-participants and all are swimming their intended event. The girls will definitely pull off a show of strength in this meet.
The prelim meet will be today at 2:00PM at Newport Harbor High School. The finals meet will be Friday at 3:00PM at Newport Harbor High School.
