Varsity girls golf had a busy week with matches starting last week.
On Monday, the team defeated Estancia on their home course by eight points.
Vivienne Nguyen (’15) said “The season’s going well. It’s hard [with all the new players] but we’re working on it.”
Unfortunately, the girls lost to Los Alamitos on Tuesday, with a score of 298 -231.
Despite this loss, the players kept their heads up. The team played on Wednesday against the Huntington Beach Oilers, but did not have a full seven and subsequently lost the match.
Cecilia Tran (’16) did not see this as a huge setback, but as a way to improve, she stated, “Practice makes perfect. Anything is possible. As Ms. Marquez says, ‘It’s a game of inches, not yards.’”
The girls play again next Tuesday against Newport Harbor and Thursday against Marina.
