The National Letter of Intent signing consisted of three FVHS senior, varsity soccer girls signing to play soccer and begin their studies at colleges within and outside of California.
The three Barons, Alison Marlow (’15), Jacquelyn Garrett (’15), and Kasey Reeve (’15), have earned great college and future opportunities through their individual and team efforts on and off the field.
Marlow, a four year goalkeeper on varsity, has signed to attend William Jessup University in Northern California. Marlow appreciates all her teachers who have helped her to balance and excel in both school and soccer. She is especially grateful to her coach, Scott Goldman, saying he helped immensely in getting her on her first club team and giving her the confidence to improve overall.
“They have all been so flexible with all of my recruiting visits and showcases and have helped me put in extra work to excel in the classroom as well,” said Marlow.
Garrett, who’s played and contributed on many levels of FVHS soccer, will be attending Bethel College in Kansas. Garret has worked extremely hard her entire high school career to be the best soccer player and student possible. She is very excited for her future in soccer and school.
“I am beyond grateful to have earned this opportunity to not only get an education but also to achieve my dream of playing college soccer,” said Garrett.
Reeve, who has played all four years on the varsity team, and currently as a center forward, has signed for Seattle Pacific University in the state of Washington. Reeve looks forward to her college experience in meeting new people in soccer, pursuing her aimed career as an occupational therapist, and developing as a person and player. She also hopes to one day play soccer for her home country, England, after graduating college.
Each girl has achieved great opportunities and looks forward to beginning their college careers as hardworking students and dedicated athletes.
“This is the best opportunity that I’ve ever had; I’m looking forward to living my dream of playing college soccer and living in a city that I love,” said Reeve.
