The boys varsity baseball team lost to Edison on March 25, despite playing hard throughout the game. The team is at a record of 6-5 wins in their current season and hopes to win more games with their hard work.
“I felt that we gave our best effort but just came up short in the long run,” said Wyatt McGinnis (‘16).
Although this game put a damper on everyone’s spirit, the team remains hopeful that they will bounce back from this event by practicing harder and playing even harder. The pitching in this game was a little weak but the team plans to work on that for their upcoming games. The team hopes to improve as a whole in all their skills and abilities.
“As a team we have to play better. So instead of some of the guys just giving half effort, we should all give 100%,” said Pierson Loscka (‘15).
Luckily, they were able to reclaim their glory at the following game on March 27 against Los Alamitos. Their pitching vastly improved and the players had great hits that scored them multiple runs.
During the bottom of the second inning, William Aguilar (‘15) made a hit that resulted in three runs at once. This helped boost the team to win against Los Alamitos. Throughout the game, the team displayed strong defense and played great overall.
Although Fountain Valley faced a loss, they were able to redeem themselves in a win. It gave them greater confidence, but also kept their mindsets in working hard towards winning every game they can.
“I feel really good, I feel like we have a lot of momentum. Hopefully we’re gonna win tomorrow… and then we keep going. I think we’re looking good right now. Our team chemistry is picking up. So I think we’ll be good,” said J.T. Navarro (’15).
