Kat’s Take

I first joined BBN, I was under the impression that I would have to be in-front of the camera; an idea that scared me, but made me feel like I would be able to break out of the quiet bubble I lived in. Further into the class (and in my favor) I realized that it was the exact opposite.

I think a lot of people apply for BBN thinking that their job is to be in-front of the camera 24/7. In reality, BBN is the people working behind the camera. It’s true, BBN members do appear in front of the camera occasionally, but our goal is not to show viewers how much fun we’re having or how great we can act, we are here for the school and here to feature the thousands of people at Fountain Valley High School.

With this blog, I’m hoping viewers, will get insight into what we really do as BBN. Yes, we have a lot of fun and mess around a little more than we can probably afford, but we also work extremely hard to produce the bi-monthly episodes and any additional pieces the school needs.

In BBN you can find some of the most wacky, fun, and awesome people you will ever meet in your high school career. The best part about these people is their drive. BBN members are some of the most dedicated people I have ever met in my life. Consciously or unconsciously, they strive to make their school a better place and provide content that’s relevant, entertaining, and informational; which seems oddly righteous for a high school student.

BBN, ultimately, is a place of joy, but hard work. One does not simply join BBN to slack off. Each person has their own importance to add to the class. And while mine might be done in a quiet fashion, I still believe I play an important role in shaping the class.
