Behind his great sense of humor and countless jokes, junior Brandon Nguyen is a hardworking and ambitious junior.
Brandon aspires to become a lawyer and to attend a prestigious university. He has an avid passion for law, and his favorite subject in school is history.
“I think I would enjoy being a lawyer because of the structured lifestyle it gives me. From my last mock trial season, I’ve only grown to love arguing in the courtroom more,” he said.
A second-year member, Nguyen’s love for writing and news, especially on topics of the news and law, naturally guided him to join Baron Banner.
“I´ve always been fascinated by the new cycles that enwrap our country,” Nguyen said. “Joining Baron News is a chance to make my voice heard and also do investigative reporting which is a thrilling experience.”
Over the summer, Nguyen interned for Michelle Steel, a congresswoman representing California’s 48th congressional district since 2021. From this experience, he has gained deep insight and knowledge into the workings and duties of the Congressional office.
He is also involved in many clubs at school, such as the Fountain Valley High School Mock Trial club, where he is able to showcase his passion for law as a Pre-Trial Litigation Lawyer.
Alongside his goal of working towards becoming a lawyer, he is also involved in the FVHS Miracle for Kids chapter, helping kids who are dealing with serious illnesses such as cancer.
Nguyen also enjoys participating in the Baron Academic Foundation. Through this foundation, he gets to fundraise for the school and add input on decisions on which clubs get funding from the Foundation.
“The Baron Academic Foundation gives me the chance to add input on where the school allocates a large part of its funds. I have also learned to make strong ties to the community and businesses allowing me to effectively fundraise,” Nguyen said.
In his spare time, one of his primary hobbies is playing video games, and you might even catch him online playing “League of Legends.”
