Candice Tran

“Treat others the way you want to be treated.”

Senior Candice Tran treats this as her life motto. Her kindness towards others shines through her sincere and honest personality. She values genuinity in a person and believes that people should be true to themselves.

She believes you can form a stronger connection with a person who is authentic and will naturally be drawn to someone whose values match yours. Her values can be seen reflected in herself with her creativity and loyalty.

Tran enjoys drawing, basketball and watching fun, comforting shows when she has free time in her busy twelfth-grade schedule. She strongly connects with drawing and feels at peace with a pencil and paper.

Additionally, she’s also passionate about basketball, though she admitted she hated it when she was young. Now, she is on our very own Fountain Valley girls’ basketball team.

Recently, she learned the strength of loss when she lost her grandpa and it changed her perspective of life greatly. Tran grew up with both her grandparents, and she feels as though she was lucky to have them because many don’t have that opportunity. She regrets taking her time with him for granted and has become more appreciative of all the people and things in her life.

“You don’t appreciate what you have until it’s gone and you just have to spend every moment with family to the fullest,” Tran said.

Tran hopes to achieve her goals and pave the way to her adult life with the help of money, kindness and connections.
