Sophomore Anneliese Duong sees the world through a unique lens. Art and pragmatism go hand in hand in Duong’s outlook on the world and her future. If she’s not making jewelry for her side business, she’s capturing pictures on her phone or finding some other way to channel her creative energy.

Following a few years of yearbook experience in middle school and inspired by her older sister’s experience in Baron Banner, she decided to join to strengthen her graphic design and photography skills. Duong also has many goals for this year and her future beyond it.

“In general, I want to improve my study habits and time management,” said Duong.

Outside of school, she enjoys a normal teenage life. She can’t live without her phone, McDonald’s ice cream and a childhood keepsake she’s had ever since she was a baby. This year, she’s looking forward to staying on top of her grades and possibly beginning work on her driver’s license.

“What motivates is the [feeling of] success I get and getting [to] an end result.”

Duong, herself, hopes to pursue a career in optometry after studying at UCI or UCLA. She hopes that her future is less stressful than life is present.

One of her biggest inspirations is Emma Chamberlain.

“She made her own career by creating videos and she knows how to handle any problem. I admire that the most and she’s also such a fashion icon,” said Duong.

With her boundless creativity and work ethic, she’s an exceptional part of the Baron Banner team.
