Anneliese Duong

Anneliese Duong does it all. As a junior at Fountain Valley High School (FVHS), Duong is the current social media manager at Baron Banner.

Duong first gained interest in Baron Banner when her older sister would bring home Baron Banner newspapers and magazines.

“Even though my sister was part of the reason why I joined Baron Banner, for me personally, I decided to join because I wanted to improve my photography and writing skills,” Duong said.

Wanting to be able to branch out and be more involved with the media at FVHS, Duong decided to sign up as a photographer. However, she eventually found herself enjoying the beauty of writing articles.

“I’d say, a lot of my articles are drawn from trends on TikTok, and really in my daily life, like places I go to on my own,” she said.

Her motivation to take on such roles is because of her love for the faces of satisfaction and appreciation that she gets in return from the people she takes pictures of.

“Every time I took them, they were always so happy to get the photos,” Duong said.

Apart from taking sports photos, she also enjoys covering articles for sports, specifically tennis. Out of all the articles she’s written, her favorite article to write was “Lady Barons walk out of Villa Park High School as CIF finalists,” because it sums up who she is as a journalist and how much her writing skills have grown.

When she is not taking pictures or updating the Baron Banner social media, Duong is usually found playing tennis for the FVHS tennis team or making jewelry for her small business.

“I play tennis—like every day. It’s like a lifestyle now,” Duong said.

When the weekdays are over and the weekend rolls around, she usually relaxes at home or does her homework while blasting songs by Daniel Caesar, Steve Lacy and RIO.

Whether it’s playing tennis or working on articles for Baron Banner, Duong excels in all her work, thanks to her confidence and dedication.
