If there’s one word someone could describe junior Emily Chan, it would be lively, because she’s always talkative and happy even in the early morning. Chan’s bright energy is contagious to the people around her, always leaving a smile on their faces.
As the designer-in-chief this year, Chan’s goals are to mainly focus on not just her academics, but on extracurriculars and projects.
Her favorite things to do in Baron Barnner include drawing—a hobby she has had since she was young—as well as writing about her fellow classmates and teachers.
“I think writing is my favorite,” Chan said. “I really like doing features because I like to get to know people.”
Chan’s future plans are to get into business, following in the footstepslike her parents with a desireto work with people.
“I want to go into business,” Chan said. “Both my parents are in it. But also I feel like I’m a very social person, and I like working with people, and I feel like I want to manage people, and like work on staff, development, that type of stuff.”
What advice does Chan want to give for future Baron Banner students?
“Put your heart into it.”
