Senior Khue Tran, a welcoming and positive presence, is ready to make her mark as a writer for Baron Banner. Though she admits she’s never ventured into the world of journalism before, Tran’s decision to join stems from a simple curiosity.
“I don’t know,” Tran said. “I’ve never done anything similar to journalism, and I thought it would be fun to try something new.”
This year, Tran hopes to dive into news and opinion pieces, bringing her soon-to-be-heard perspective to the table.
Outside of writing, she’s also drawn to the world of arts and crafts. Whether it’s drawing or creating something with her hands, Tran’s passion for the creative process runs deep.
Her love for the arts is also reflected in her love for movies, her favorite being La La Land. Tran recalls watching it as a child, not quite understanding its impact at the time but after re-experiencing its art, she’s learned the strength of content and creation.
Tran’s biggest role model is her sister, who is currently in graduate school for dental studies. Her sister’s dedication and hard-working nature inspire Tran to stay committed to her own goals, especially as she tackles the challenges of finishing her college applications with a similar sense of determination.
Despite the inevitable stresses that come with senior year, Tran takes a laid-back approach to life, guided by the mantra, “Go with the flow”. Still, she balances her easygoing attitude with practical advice to plan out your future.
With a passion for both creativity and self-improvement, Tran is set to make the most of her time in Baron Banner and beyond. Her enthusiasm for new experiences and her grounded values will undoubtedly shape her journey through her final year of high school.
