The first word freshman Minh Le describes herself as is bubbly, and anyone who meets her would immediately say the same. Not only does she radiate excitement, she radiates passion. As she speaks, whether it be about her humor or outerspace, her intentionality strikes as refreshing.
Excitement for the things she is passionate about motivates her to pursue opportunities and seek chances to grow—whether it be in the field of education or recreational activities. Passion is not the only tool she has in her toolbox for success—experience is her screwdriver.
Despite being a freshman, experience is not foreign to her. Le has taken part in robotics competitions and musical theater productions throughout elementary and middle school, playing lead roles and crushing the competition.
In a fifth grade robotics competition, she and her team designed a Lego space station per the theme, “How can we have people live in space?” Her team named it the First Lego League (FLL), and also considered nuances like bringing water to the FLL to allow astronauts to stay for longer periods. For their efforts, they won the competition.
Le also describes musical theater as a hobby. Recently, she starred in “Newsies,” playing the main character, Jack Kelly. She has also starred in “Matilda.”
And now, she’s ready to take on more.
This year, she is most excited to be on the Fountain Valley High School (FVHS) dance team. And not only that, she is excited to improve and grow in her photography and writing skills in Baron Banner.
“The photography part of Baron Banner first got me into it, [but after reading] a few articles…[I thought] I might give this a try,” Le said.
While pursuing the arts at FVHS, Le also plans to take advantage of the many clubs and classes offered to pursue a career in STEM.
“I want to be an engineer for NASA,” she said. “I like space.”
Le also plans to take part in clubs such as Dear Asian Youth, Robotics Club and Exploring Computer Science during her time at FVHS.
Although it might seem that she is all work, Le loves to laugh.
“My humor is so broken, I laugh at the weirdest things ever,” she said.
Her favorite joke recently? A joke about hydrogen.
